Intake Process
Our team is committed to providing a seamless intake process for families who wish to enroll in our program. Details of the intake and enrollment process are listed below.
benefits verification
Applied Behavior Analysis therapy is covered by most insurance plans. Rise Behavioral Services currently accepts Blue Cross Blue Shield of Louisiana, United Healthcare, and Aetna. We also accept the five Healthy Louisiana Medicaid plans including: Louisiana Healthcare Connections, Healthy Blue, United Healthcare Community, Aetna Better Health, and Amerihealth Caritas. A copy of the front and back of the insurance card, along with proof of an Autism diagnosis are required. Families will be contacted to review the extent of their benefits for ABA services, including copay and deductible amounts within 5 business days.

application
Once benefits have been verified and it is determined that our program is right for your family. An intake packet will need to be completed and submitted, along with a $50 application fee. The intake packet includes forms that help us get to know your child and provides you with information about what to expect from ABA therapy. If your child is enrolled in school and has an Individualized Education Program (IEP), a copy will need to be submitted with the intake packet.
assessment
The initial assessment will last between 4 to 6 hours. The assessment may take place across settings, such as in the home and clinic. During the assessment, the Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) will assess skills across multiple areas to develop an individualized treatment plan for your child. After the assessment, the BCBA will review the completed treatment plan and goals for therapy. Once the treatment plan is approved, it is submitted to the insurance carrier for authorization.
Begin Services
Once authorization for ABA services is received and a therapist is assigned, your child is ready to begin therapy. The therapy schedule will depend on the program in which your child is enrolled. A meeting will be scheduled prior to the first day of services to review the parent handbook and answer any questions you may have regarding your child’s program.
parent training
Parent Training is a critical component of a successful ABA therapy program. Parent Training helps with the generalization of skills across settings and provides parents with the necessary skills to support appropriate behavior at home. The BCBA supervising your child’s program will work with you to identify specific goals for parent training. These goals will be addressed during required meetings. Meetings are scheduled twice per month and occur in a single family or group format.
